With the concerns and uncertainties related to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we want to assure our parents and patients that, although appointments may be delayed, we are doing everything we can to be sure your or [and?] your children’s orthodontic care continues successfully.
As an orthodontic office, we have always followed the CDC recommendations for infection control and sterilization and we will continue to do so. Recently, the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association asked that all elective dental care (including orthodontics) be temporarily suspended. Therefore, we will not be seeing patients (except for emergencies) in the near future. Our staff will continue answering the phone (972-257-3200) and will be available to reschedule appointments and answer questions. You can call also reach Dr. Ohlenforst by calling the office number, his cell (214-502-1207), or his home (972-727-6782).
Based on what we know now, including from the CDC and the American Association of Orthodontists, we anticipate that when we again begin seeing patients in our office, we will – for at least a while – spread out appointments to continue reducing person-to-person contact. As much as we usually love seeing siblings and parents in the office, we will likely – at least for a while – ask parents and siblings to wait in the car during the patient’s appointment time. Someone from our office will be available to walk our younger patients from the car to the office if you would like.
Especially with updates from the CDC and others coming so frequently, we don’t yet know exactly when our office will reopen but we’ll keep you posted and are thinking of you. Keep washing your hands!
